ECUMENICAL THEOLOGY

1. Ecumenical theology is not merely an academic debate and a good theological discussion. It is a call to live unity as an evangelical witness.
2. Although challenges persist, advances such as the Lutheran-Catholic dialogue, the good relations between the Catholic Church with the Coptic Church and with the Armen Church, demonstrate that reconciliation is possible.
3. As John Paul II pointed out in Ut unum sint, unity is a gift of the Spirit that requires humility and continuous conversion on the part of Christians.
